FAWN ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. If you have questions, contact us at alexmarcusgoldsmith@gmail.com.

What data we collect

When you join the waitlist or create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (hashed, never stored in plain text). Phone number and school are optional. FAWN is custodial and crypto-native — we do not ask for a Social Security number, date of birth, or physical address to open an account, and we do not perform identity verification (KYC) or credit checks.

If you choose to link an external bank account for funding (via Plaid) or invest in stocks (via Alpaca), those third parties collect and process the identity information their own services require, under their own privacy policies. FAWN only ever sees what those integrations return to us — we do not separately collect or store your bank credentials.

We also collect basic usage data (pages visited, interactions) to improve the product.

How we use your data

Your email and name are used to send waitlist updates, account notifications, and product announcements. We do not send unsolicited marketing to third parties on your behalf. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

Third-party services

FAWN is not a bank and balances are not FDIC insured. The only third parties FAWN integrates with are Alpaca (for stock and ETF investing) and Plaid (for linking an external bank account, if you choose to). Each governs its own data under its own privacy policy. Your custodial USDC wallet uses envelope encryption for signing keys and those keys are never shared with third parties.

Data storage and security

Waitlist and account data is stored in our backend database hosted on a secure cloud provider. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. We do not store payment card numbers on FAWN servers.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes. Ever.

Your rights

You may request deletion of your waitlist entry or account data at any time by emailing alexmarcusgoldsmith@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email if you have an account. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
